A source from the Évora Territorial Command of the GNR reported that a man was unloading bales of hay at Herdade do Pedrogão when three bales fell on him.
A report from the Alentejo Central Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command stated that the alarm for the accident was raised at 12:12 PM, and the victim was transported by an INEM helicopter to the Évora hospital.
The Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) was present at the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, according to the GNR source.
A total of 12 operatives were deployed to the location, including Montemor-o-Novo firefighters, INEM, GNR, and the Municipal Civil Protection Service, supported by four vehicles, among them the Évora emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER), and the helicopter.
