A man was injured after being shot during a confrontation on Sunday afternoon on Avenida da Bela Vista in Setúbal.
The victim, described as “a man in his 50s,” was transported and treated at São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal, according to a source from the Setúbal District Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) who spoke to Notícias ao Minuto.
The investigation into the incident has been transferred to the Judicial Police (PJ).
According to CNN Portugal, the victim was traveling by car when several shots were fired. Subsequently, about 15 armed individuals allegedly engaged in a shootout, causing damage to the suspect’s vehicle and other property.
The television channel also reported that the Special Police Unit (UEP) was called to strengthen security in the area.
