A man, aged 48, was arrested by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) in the early hours of June 13 in the parish union of Camarate, Unhos, and Apelação, Loures, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Authorities were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. According to a statement released on Monday, the victim approached officers at the scene, claiming that the suspect had fired three shotgun rounds, one of which struck the door of the victim’s apartment.
The incident reportedly stemmed from longstanding family disputes, intensified by a recent disagreement.
The statement noted that the suspect had barricaded himself in his residence. A police operation was launched to negotiate and apprehend him, which succeeded when the suspect voluntarily exited his home and was detained.
Inside the suspect’s residence, two 12-gauge shotguns, 35 shotgun shells, three air rifles with accessories, and four bladed weapons were confiscated.
The detained individual was presented to the competent Judicial Authority for coercion measures.
