Mansur Brown is set to perform at Coreto do Parque Basílio Teles, the stage of the festival, in Matosinhos, on July 5, as announced in a statement released today.
“The guitar serves as a starting point for sonic journeys that blend sounds originating from the early 2000s, highlighted by afrobeat influences and a musical aura some liken to a direct influence from Burial,” describes the festival’s organizers about Mansur Brown’s music.
Matosinhos em Jazz, an initiative by the Matosinhos City Council, runs throughout July, offers free admission, and the performances are scheduled for 6:00 PM.
As part of the festival, throughout the month, an exhibition will be held at Parque Basílio Teles, featuring reinterpretations of “iconic jazz album covers” by five Portuguese artists, whose names “will be announced shortly”.
