
The official program notes that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will arrive in the Angolan capital at 6:00 PM, accompanied by the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs and a representative from each parliamentary group of the Portuguese Assembly.
This visit, as announced by the presidency, will mark a significant moment in the cooperative and friendly relations between Portugal and Angola.
Later this evening, the Portuguese head of state will meet with representatives of the Portuguese community residing in Angola at the official residence of Ambassador Francisco Alegre Duarte.
On Tuesday afternoon, bilateral meetings for Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa are scheduled, though details of the agenda have not been released.
The central independence event is set for November 11, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial in Luanda.
The program will feature a floral tribute, the national anthem, a speech by Angolan President João Lourenço, the awarding of the 50th-anniversary commemorative medal in the honor class to the first Angolan President, António Agostinho Neto, followed by a military and civic parade and a lunch for foreign guests.
Confirmed attendees include 13 heads of state and government, among them the Presidents of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, and former Presidents of Mozambique, Joaquim Chissano, and Filipe Nyusi.
Also participating are leaders and special envoys from African, Asian, and Gulf countries, such as India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
