Portuguese cyclist João Almeida (UAE Emirates) won the Tour de Suisse on Sunday by securing victory in the eighth and final stage, raced as a time trial, where he overturned a 33-second deficit to then-leader, Frenchman Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels).
João Almeida, who was second in 2024, adds the Tour de Suisse to his victories in the Tour de Romandie and the Basque Country, joining a select group of cyclists who have achieved three wins in one week-long World Tour events in the same season.
