“The President of the Republic has been informed that President Ramalho Eanes and his driver are in perfect health following the car accident involving their vehicle this morning,” stated Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on Thursday, in a communiqué issued by the Presidency.
The head of state expressed his “concern and solidarity” following news of the accident but said he is reassured by the assurances that the general is well and without any consequences.
