
Three journalists were honored in a ceremony at the Palácio de Belém, receiving the insignia of Commander of the Order of Liberty, as announced by the Presidency on its website.
“The first ‘signal,’ the song ‘E depois do adeus’ by Paulo de Carvalho, was initiated by João Paulo Diniz at the Emissores Associados de Lisboa. The second ‘signal,’ the song ‘Grândola, Vila Morena’ by Zeca Afonso, was recorded and broadcast by Carlos Albino and Manuel Tomaz at Rádio Renascença,” it reads.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also honored the Ginásio Clube Português with the insignia of Honorary Member of the Order of Camões in a ceremony at the Palácio de Belém, as stated in another note from the Presidency released today.
The recognition marks “the 150 years of activity of this Club, which has become a model and reference in national sports.”
The President of the Republic further awarded the Sociedade de Geografia de Lisboa with the insignia of Honorary Member of the Order of Camões, during a ceremony at the Palácio de Belém, marking the 150th anniversary of the institution, according to another note from the Presidency.
