The “March for Life,” organized by the Federation for Life, commenced at Largo de Camões, gathering hundreds of participants, many of whom were young people. Participants began assembling while wearing T-shirts and finalizing signs for the event.
Banners displayed slogans such as “Always for life,” “Choose life,” and “Yes to life, no to abortion” as demonstrators moved from Largo de Camões through Rua da Misericórdia towards São Bento.
While on Rua da Misericórdia, the group observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Arcos clinic, known for performing abortions.
Leading the march were three motorcyclists, with participants passionately chanting slogans like “I am for life” and “All life has dignity” throughout the procession.
This annual “March for Life” is being held in 12 Portuguese cities, including Aveiro, Beja, Braga, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Funchal, Guarda, Lamego, Lisbon, Porto, Santarém, and Viseu.
