Protesters carrying signs with messages like “Animal Liberation” and “Be Vegan” shouted slogans such as “Animal rights are fundamental” and “Let’s give a voice to those who feel like us.”
The march started at Campo Pequeno and will conclude in front of the Assembly of the Republic, after passing through Duque de Saldanha square, Marquês de Pombal, Braamcamp street, and Largo do Rato.
Before proceeding, participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Elevador da Glória accident on Wednesday, in Lisbon.
