
The request for a suspension of duties, which marks the third such appeal, is scheduled for discussion at the municipal meeting next Wednesday, as outlined in the agenda accessed today.
Marco Martins, who has been leading Gondomar City Council since 2013, is currently in his final term and cannot seek re-election.
The local elections are slated for October 12.
Following Marco Martins’ transition to the Metropolitan Transport of Porto (TMP), the leadership of the Gondomar municipality, located in the Porto district, was taken over by the former vice-president, Luís Filipe Araújo.
The socialist was unanimously elected as the president of the TMP on September 27, receiving unanimous support from the 12 mayors present at the Metropolitan Council meeting.
