The vice-president of parliament and member of the Socialist Party (PS), Marcos Perestrello, today reprimanded fellow party deputy Isabel Moreira at the end of the plenary session for an intervention in which she announced finding a mobile phone in the bathroom.
At the conclusion of the voting period, the Socialist deputy requested to speak to share “information that might be useful” with fellow parliamentarians.
“Upon my quick exit, I noticed that some lady deputy may have forgotten a mobile phone in the bathroom,” stated Isabel Moreira.
“I believe your intervention, excuse me for saying, was very inappropriate. I find it inappropriate, useless, and disrespectful to the chamber,” responded Marcos Perestrello, who was presiding over the session at that time.
The Socialist deputy momentarily left the plenary during the closing remarks of the debate preceding the votes, delivered by deputy André Ventura, an action criticized by the Chega party leader.
