Today, the parliamentary inquiry committee on INEM appointed IL deputy Mário Amorim Lopes as the person responsible for drafting the final report on the proceedings.

The selection of Mário Amorim Lopes as the report-deputy garnered “broad consensus.”

“We appreciate the trust and task assigned, and on our part, we will (…) strive to be as objective as possible and try to make a true transcript of what happens in this inquiry,” stated the IL deputy during the meeting held today at the Assembly of the Republic.

The inquiry was approved in July, proposed by the Liberal Initiative. It consists of 24 deputies and has 90 days to determine the political, technical, and financial responsibilities related to the current situation at INEM.

The focus includes INEM’s actions during the strike at the end of October and beginning of November 2024, as well as the political oversight of the institute since 2019.
