
In a statement, the AMN announced that the “mega cross-border operation” named “Stolen Boats,” conducted between October 20 and October 31, took place in various marinas and strategic aquatic zones of the national territory.
The European operation inspected 978 vessels, with authorities seizing boats, engines, various falsified documents, trailers, and equipment.
Participants in the operation included police counterparts from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, and also the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, FRONTEX, supported by nautical and terrestrial resources.
According to the statement, the operation was pivotal in standardizing inspection procedures within the European maritime environment and international cooperation in preventing vessel theft, reaffirming the Maritime Police’s responsiveness to emerging threats to maritime security.
