During the operation conducted by the Central Criminal Investigation Unit (UCIC) and the Southern Regional Command of the Maritime Police, “Maritime Police officers discovered more than two dozen jet skis, along with trailers and spare parts for boats,” the National Maritime Authority announced in a statement.
The seized items were found “in a space allegedly used for storing nautical material of suspicious origin and destination, showing signs of forgery of technical notation and other irregularities.”
According to the statement, a suspect involved in the detected illicit activities was named as a defendant.
The discovered materials were seized, and evidence was gathered deemed relevant for ongoing investigations, which are proceeding “under the direction of the competent judicial authority.”
