The districts of Bragança, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, and Braga will be under a yellow weather warning from 12:00 to 18:00 today.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has also issued a yellow warning for the Madeira archipelago due to the forecast of showers, sometimes heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms and possibly hail, from 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturday.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk to certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
For today, IPMA forecasts periods of very cloudy skies and showers on the mainland, particularly in the North and Centre, which could be locally heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms.
A slight decrease in maximum temperature is also expected for the interior North and Centre.
Minimum temperatures will range between 5 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 13 degrees (in Porto), while maximums will vary between 13 degrees (in Guarda) and 21 degrees (in Faro, Beja, and Santarém).
For the Madeira archipelago, IPMA forecasts skies with periods of considerable cloudiness, rain or showers from the afternoon, which may be locally intense and accompanied by thunderstorms by the end of the day, along with light to moderate winds.
In Funchal, temperatures will range between 16 and 22 degrees, and in Porto Santo between 15 and 22 degrees.
