The rail link between Lisbon and Porto experienced an interruption in the north-south direction but has since been restored.
The incident was reported at 09:01, and the victim, unfortunately, succumbed to injuries at the scene, according to the Coimbra Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
Emergency response included firefighters from the Mealhada Volunteer Fire Department, the National Republican Guard, and an emergency resuscitation medical vehicle.
