With the title “We Accelerate Our Future with Focus, Stability, and Ambition,” Ana Figueiredo states, in an internal email sent today to employees, that the company continues to “execute its strategic plan with determination,” aimed at a profound and sustained transformation aligned with a clear ambition for 2030.
The ambition is to “accelerate sustainable growth, strengthen our technological leadership, and prepare the company for a future marked by artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and new connectivity paradigms,” emphasizes the CEO of Meo.
In the first nine months of this year, “we maintained solid performance, with total revenues of 2.074 million euros, representing a 1.2% increase compared to the same period last year,” which “demonstrates Meo’s ability to adapt, respond, and lead in a demanding and highly competitive environment.”
This performance “was supported by robust investment — 292 million euros in the first nine months of the year — in more resilient, smarter, and safer next-generation networks. The ongoing technological, digital, and organizational transformation program is already generating tangible efficiencies, significant operational improvements, and new strategic opportunities,” highlights the manager, also noting the progress of Meo Energia.
“The indicators show we are fulfilling our mission: ensuring excellent infrastructure, enhancing network security, and preparing the country for a more digital, inclusive, and competitive future,” continues Ana Figueiredo, adding that “the transition from a traditional operator to a technologically integrated player is already underway.”
“We are implementing a structural evolution marked by 5G, the advancement of satellite solutions, the expansion of fiber networks, and robust energy growth,” and today Meo is “much more than a telecommunications company: it is a fundamental pillar of the Portuguese digital ecosystem, capable of boosting national competitiveness, supporting companies, and modernizing critical sectors of the economy,” reiterates the manager.
Meo’s role, she says, is to be a leader “in the digitization of the country and to contribute to Portugal and Europe having infrastructures that allow them to compete globally,” at a time when Europe is at a decisive moment.
Ana Figueiredo also addresses the divestment of the PT Data Center in Covilhã, stating that “the operation does not change” the operating model, and that Meo will maintain a long-term contract as an anchor client. “This operation will have no impact on customers, allows us to strengthen focus on our core activities while maintaining a strategic presence in the infrastructure, enabling us to continue developing our solutions for our clients,” she explains.
Simultaneously, the Altice International group “has initiated a set of proactive measures aimed at strengthening its liquidity position and increasing long-term financial stability and flexibility.”
Meo “has solid results, robust infrastructure, a clear strategic plan through 2030, and an unquestionable leadership position. Our path remains intact — and with even more focus,” reinforces the CEO.
“We will continue to invest with purpose in advanced networks, technological innovation, and digital services. We will advocate for regulatory conditions that accelerate competitiveness, particularly through the ambitious implementation of the Digital Networks Act. And we will maintain full focus on customers, innovation, and Meo’s sustainable growth,” asserts the manager.
“I count on all of you to continue advancing, with confidence and determination, on the path we are building together,” she concludes.
