Mercan Properties Group will build a 4-star hotel complex on the Costa de Santo André beach in Santiago do Cacém, with an investment of 18.2 million euros, “which should open its doors in the summer of 2024”, it was announced today.
In a press release, the Mercan Properties Group said that the new hotel, located 300 meters from the beach on the Santo André coast, will create about 50 jobs during the 14 months of construction and about 30 during the operational phase.
This is the first hotel unit of Mercan Properties Group on the Alentejo coast and the third in the entire Alentejo region, along with the two projects in Évora, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn, the latter of which is expected to open its doors before the beginning of this summer.
“Located 300 meters from the beach, the 4-star hotel project, which will renovate an existing building, has a gross construction area of approximately 2,600 m2 and will have a total of 44 rooms and suites of high comfort, with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to all its own amenities, it will also have a rooftop pool, gym, restaurant and bar available to guests,” he said.
The new hotel “has been thought out to the smallest detail, integrating all the essence of the Alentejo in its modern and sophisticated facilities, both by using materials from the region and by incorporating the gold of the Cearas in the decoration of the spaces,” said Jordi Vilanova, president of Mercan Properties, quoted in the statement.
For those in charge, the project “will be a reference for the region, capable of further promoting the tourist, economic, social and cultural aspects of Santo André and Melides”.
The new hotel unit, designed by the architect Sofia Reis and the interior design by Nanodesign, has been conceived “to offer a total relaxation experience, in a familiar and comfortable environment that breathes the calm and serenity of the unique landscape that influences from the picturesque Vila de Santo André to the Natural Reserve of Santo André and Sancha Lagoons and the beaches of Melides”, in the municipality of Grândola.
