Minimum pension for old age or survivorship in Angola increases by 42.9%

The presidential decree dated November 27 addresses the adjustment of pensions and the determination of their minimum and maximum limits, emphasizing the need to establish the sustainability indicator for the mandatory social protection system.

According to the document signed by Angolan President João Lourenço, the adjustment of pensions adheres to the principle of positive differentiation. The minimum pension value has been updated by 42.9%, while maximum and intermediate pensions have increased by 10%.

The minimum amount of the old-age pension is set at 100,000 kwanzas, the same value applied to survivor and disability pensions, as established in the legal decree already published in the Diário da República.

The maximum amount for old-age pensions is set at 802,000 kwanzas, reflecting a 10% increase.

The decree further stipulates that remunerations and payment proofs, which attest to the legal guarantee period for entitlement to benefits, as well as the registration of service time declarations with the insured’s affiliation, must obligatorily be submitted electronically.
