The parliamentary committees of Chega and PCP have submitted requirements that were approved today in the parliamentary Agriculture committee, confirmed by Maurício Marques (PSD), the committee’s president.
In addition to José Manuel Fernandes, Chega seeks to hear from the Farmers’ Confederation of Portugal (CAP), the National Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives and Agricultural Credit of Portugal (Confagri), and the Young Farmers’ Association of Portugal (AJAP) regarding the “flagrant inability of technical, operational, and financial management” of the Rural Development Program (PDR) 2020 and the Single Request 2025.
Similarly, the PCP received approval for their request to hear the Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Affairs and the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) about PDR 2020 support.
The PSD parliamentary group requested a hearing with the president of the Institute of Financing of Agriculture and Fisheries (IFAP) concerning the Single Request and PDR 2020, as well as the president of the management committee of the mainland Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (PEPAC), which also received approval.
