The Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, expressed her deep regret on Tuesday over the death of an 11-month-old baby at the entrance of the emergency room of the Centro de Saúde in Idanha-a-Nova, Castelo Branco.
“The Health Unit immediately launched an inquiry, and we were informed that the Executive Directorate of the National Health Service (DE-SNS) promptly contacted the Local Health Unit [of Castelo Branco]. They have been working together to conduct the inquiry and quickly determine exactly what happened from a clinical standpoint,” she stated to TVI/CNN Portugal.
Ana Paula Martins also mentioned that the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM) has “already provided its report” and she is awaiting to “learn as soon as possible exactly what happened to that baby.”
