A Portuguese police operation in Aveiro led to the arrest of a young individual on Wednesday, on strong suspicion of committing several robberies. The detentions were said to involve the use of violence and psychological pressure against students. The arrest was made following a warrant for detention and escort.
The suspect allegedly targeted victims on their way to educational institutions. Under threat and wielding a bladed weapon, he reportedly stole money and mobile phones from them, as detailed by the police.
The individual appeared at the Aveiro Judicial Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody.
The alleged offenses were reportedly committed “in collaboration with another suspect, who has been in preventive custody since March 20th.”
