
Two minors were rescued on Friday after being swept away by currents at a beach in Póvoa de Varzim, in the Porto district.
This incident was confirmed by the Civil Protection and Emergency Sub-Regional Command of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
According to the same source, one of the victims was transported to Hospital de São João in Porto in serious condition. The other victim received medical attention at the scene.
The JN reported that the victims are two girls, aged 13 and 15.
Emergency services, including the Portuguese National Institute for Emergency Medicine (INEM), firefighters, and the Captaincy of the Port of Póvoa de Varzim, were dispatched to the location.
