
Luís Montenegro spoke at the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting, alongside the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, who joined the final part of the session.
“This is a moment of unity. This tragedy cannot and should not be used to foster divisions or political maneuvering. We will investigate all responsibilities with respect for all those who have suffered and continue to suffer from the effects of this accident,” he urged.
Concluding his statement without taking questions, the Prime Minister emphasized that Portugal “is a nation forged by courage.”
“Courage that manifests in acts of solidarity and the tireless work of all those who provide and have provided first aid. Portugal stands united,” he reiterated.
