During the closing session of the 21st edition of the PSD Summer University, concluding today in Castelo de Vide (Portalegre), Luís Montenegro revealed that the Government aims to give “a new impetus to housing” this week, with several announced measures.
As a primary measure, he announced that next Thursday, a credit line of an additional 1.3 billion euros for the domain of affordable housing will be signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Moreover, the Government seeks to “go further” in leveraging state assets by imposing a deadline on all public entities to justify why these assets remain unused.
“We are fooling each other, and this will end. We will not allow public assets to deteriorate without use and without justification. Where there is no justification, they must be made available for use, whether in the public or private domain,” he asserted.
