Prime Minister Luís Montenegro took part in the São Bento em Família event, where he joined Tony Carreira on stage to sing ‘Sonhos de Menino’, one of the Portuguese singer’s most well-known hits.
The moment, viewable in the video above, was shared on the Government’s social media channels.
The gardens of the Palácio de São Bento opened their gates to families on Thursday to “celebrate Portuguese culture.”
The São Bento em Família event aimed to bring together “tradition, music, and sharing in a unique environment” as part of a joint initiative for the 25th of April and May Day celebrations.
In addition to Tony Carreira’s performance, there were also appearances by a group of Pauliteiros de Miranda and another featuring Cante Alentejano music.
