Prime Minister Luís Montenegro’s first trip abroad should be to Madrid, Foreign Affairs Minister Paulo Rangel announced today.
“We started [with a meeting] with the Spanish Foreign Minister [José Manuel Albares] yesterday [Wednesday] and today, already preparing for what will in principle be the Prime Minister’s first foreign trip, which will be to Madrid,” revealed Paulo Rangel, at the end of a meeting at the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels.
The minister considered that the ministerial meeting, which coincided with NATO’s 75th anniversary ceremony, was an “opportunity for the new government to interact with some of the most relevant players” in the international geopolitical context, namely US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
