
According to IPMA, all municipalities in the districts of Bragança and Guarda are at maximum risk of fire, as well as most municipalities in Vila Real, Castelo Branco, and Viseu.
Dozens of municipalities in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, Leiria, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Beja, and Faro are also at maximum risk.
More than 50 municipalities in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Lisbon, Portalegre, Beja, and Faro are experiencing a very high risk.
IPMA has placed a significant part of the Alentejo interior and dozens of other municipalities in the districts of Faro, Lisbon, Santarém, Leiria, Aveiro, and Braga at high risk.
Approximately 40 municipalities, mainly on the coast in the districts of Porto, Aveiro, Leiria, Lisbon, and Faro, as well as the entire Setúbal peninsula and two municipalities in Évora and one in Portalegre, are under moderate risk today.
The fire risk determined by IPMA has five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum, with the latter being issued when weather conditions, such as extreme heat and low humidity, significantly increase the danger of ignition and spread of fires.
Mainland Portugal is on alert from Sunday to Thursday due to the high fire risk.
IPMA forecasts a drop in temperature today, with continued hot weather, skies slightly cloudy or clear, and some cloudiness along the western coastal strip.
Minimum temperatures will range between 16 degrees Celsius (Viana do Castelo) and 24 degrees (Portalegre) and maximums between 25 degrees (Sines) and 39 degrees (Beja).
