More than 100 personnel were battling a fire with three active fronts in Vitorino dos Piães, Ponte de Lima, late this afternoon, according to the Sub-Regional Command of Alto Minho.
The alert was issued at 1:36 PM, and due to strong winds, resources on the ground had to be increased throughout the afternoon. By 7:15 PM, there were a total of 103 personnel, 30 vehicles, and six aerial units involved in the effort.
When asked if any homes were at risk, the source mentioned it is a rural area with scattered residences. One abandoned house burned down during the afternoon.
No injuries have been reported so far.
