A commanding officer, Miguel Fonseca, from the Douro Operational Command, reported an active front causing concern, where firefighting resources are being concentrated.
“There is an active front, and we are positioning firefighting resources to try to combat the fire. Other fronts are in the consolidation phase,” the commander stated.

“We are looking at a night of work,” he emphasized.
According to the official page of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), at 9:15 PM, 107 operatives with support from 33 vehicles were involved in combating the flames.
The alert was issued at 4:15 PM. There are no known threats to property or people.
