
“In 2025, national operators declared a total wine/must inventory volume of 12.1 million hectoliters (-5% compared to 2024),” a statement indicated.
During this period, 389,000 hectoliters of wine-based and by-product distillates were also reported, an increase of 10% from the previous year.
A total of 4,570 inventory declarations were registered, a 2% rise from the same period last year.
Of these, 3,426 (75%) were submitted directly to the Wine and Vineyard Information System (SIvv).
Products with Protected Designation of Origin (DOP), Protected Geographical Indication (IGP), or suitable status represented 84% of the inventory, and fortified wines with DOP accounted for 29% of the total.
Operators are required to declare wine and must annually.
Failure to comply with this obligation may result in fines of up to 10,000 euros.
