
An emergency source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection reported that the alert for the fire, which broke out in the Malhada da Palmela area, was issued at 16:12.
Around 18:30, the fire had two active fronts, consuming an area of pasture and holm oak trees. There were no reports of injuries or houses at risk, the source added.
As of 18:35, 126 firefighters were battling the flames, supported by 46 vehicles and five aircraft.
