More than 140 operators and nine air resources fight fire in Bragança.

In statements made to the Lusa news agency, João Noel Afonso, the sub-regional commander for Terras de Trás-os-Montes, reported at 2:00 PM that the fire is burning intensely and has two active fronts.

“The fire has two active fronts, burning in a brush area with significant intensity. We are reinforcing the fight with both aerial and ground resources. There are no populations or assets at risk, as the flames are burning in an isolated brush area,” emphasized the official.

The fire broke out at 12:07 PM in a brush area in the parish of Aveleda.

By 2:20 PM, according to the page of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection, there were 142 firefighters on-site battling the blaze, supported by nine aircraft and 39 vehicles.
