An alert was issued at around 18:24 for a wildfire that ignited with significant intensity in an area covered with eucalyptus and scrubland. “Reinforcements were requested and are now being retracted,” a source from the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command stated.
The firefighting efforts involved 167 personnel, 42 land vehicles, and four aircraft, some of which had begun to withdraw by 19:40, including the aerial support, according to the same source.
The fire, which started near the village of Aldeia da Ribeira in the parish of Alcanede, posed no threat to people or homes.
