
At least 35 drivers were arrested between April 1 and 7 in the jurisdiction of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP), as part of the Road Safety Campaign ‘Cinto-me Vivo’.
Among the arrests, 16 were due to driving under the influence of alcohol, nine for lack of legal authorization, and 10 for other crimes, according to a PSP statement.
The authorities also inspected 4,128 vehicles, issuing 930 infraction notices.
In addition, 87 vehicles were seized, with 7,269 monitored by radar. Moreover, 700 drivers underwent breathalyzer tests.
The Road Safety Campaign ‘Cinto-me Vivo’ is conducted by the PSP, the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR), and the National Republican Guard (GNR), aiming to “alert drivers and passengers to the importance of always and correctly using safety devices.”
