More than 4,000 job offers from 75 companies to ‘grab’ in Guimarães

The “Job Days” initiative, promoted by the School of Engineering of UMinho, takes place on February 28th and March 1st, in Guimarães.

The day before, on Tuesday, there is a debate on the evolution of work models, with personalities from entrepreneurship and training.

At the opening of the program, at 1:30 am, there will be a round table that will bring together the president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs, Alexandre Meireles, the president of the Entrepreneurial Association of Portugal, Luís Miguel Ribeiro, the vice-president of the Order of Engineers, Lídia Santiago, the associate director for the Personnel area at Deloitte, Sara Rodrigues, and the professor of leadership and high performance at the School of Psychology at UMinho, Rui Gomes.

“This debate aims to focus on new work models, the challenges of human resource management and the attraction and retention of talent, looking at the new generation of candidates,” says the School of Engineering in a statement. The moderation is the president and vice president of the School of Engineering of UMinho, Pedro Arezes and Raul Fangueiro, respectively.

Starting at 2:00 pm, the public can learn about the career proposals from Apgar Consulting, BorgWarner, Continental Mabor, Grupo Casais, Petrotec, Cegid Primavera, Navigator, Vestas, ZF and CEiiA.

On March 1, the participating companies and entities will advertise their job, internship and research opportunities from 10:00 to 18:00, interacting with students, graduates and other interested parties, at the stands located along the ‘hall’ of building 1 of the campus. At the opening, a visit by the official entities to the venue is planned.

“The Employment Days are an event of great relevance for the action of the School of Engineering of UMinho in its multiple aspects, especially in its relationship with society and companies. The more than 4,000 job offers are an indicator of the relevance of UMinho’s training in various branches of engineering, resulting in high demand from its students,” says Raul Fangueiro.
