The GNR announced, in relation to its Senior Census operation of 2025, that took place from October 1 to November 16, various direct contact actions to alert elderly people on the need for safety behavior to minimize becoming crime victims.
Following the districts of Guarda (5,852 seniors) and Vila Real (5,167), Bragança (4,191), Faro (3,414), Viseu (3,304), Beja (2,749), Évora (2,381), and Castelo Branco (2,316) were where most seniors were identified.
During the 2025 Senior Census operation, the GNR conducted several room and door-to-door initiatives, reaching a total of 35,143 seniors.
