Several municipalities in the northern and central interior and the Algarve are at a very high risk of rural fires today, according to IPMA.
The institute’s assessments indicate that the risk of rural fires will remain elevated at least until Monday in some districts.
This risk, determined by IPMA, is categorized into five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum. The assessments are based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and precipitation over the last 24 hours.
IPMA forecasts for today in the mainland include mostly cloudy skies in the northern and central coastal areas, with light rain or drizzle, strong winds along the southern coastal area and highlands, and a slight decrease in temperature, especially the maximum.
Minimum temperatures will range from 11 degrees Celsius (in Guarda and Viseu) to 20 degrees (in Faro), with maximum temperatures between 22 (in Porto and Viana do Castelo) and 32 (in Faro).
