The number of IRS tax declarations submitted through the Finance Portal has already surpassed one and a half million by the end of the 10th day of the 2024 income declaration campaign.
As per the data available on the Finance Portal by 1:32 AM this Friday, April 11, 1,530,174 declarations had been submitted. The majority of these (1,199,599) came from taxpayers who last year only had income from dependent work or pensions.
The remaining 330,575 declarations pertain to individuals who earned other types of income, such as from rents or independent work.
These figures include those that have been submitted since the beginning of the year, which pertain to replacement declarations or initial submissions of income from previous years, and therefore are not part of the current IRS campaign.
Last year, by the first week of August, the Tax and Customs Authority (AT) processed about six million IRS declarations (related to 2023 income), marking an increase of 1.1% compared to the previous year.
The deadline for submitting the annual IRS declaration is June 30, with the law requiring that settlements be completed by July 31 and refunds paid by August 31.
The end of August is also the deadline for taxpayers who did not withhold tax at source or withheld insufficient amounts to pay the tax calculated by the Tax and Customs Authority (AT).
