Most party leaders close the campaign in the North today.

The Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, chose Espinho, his hometown, to conclude the final campaign event, which starts at the Mercado do Bolhão in Porto, alongside Pedro Duarte, his former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and head of the PSD/CDS-PP/IL coalition for the Porto municipality.

The social-democratic leader will also be present in Vila Nova de Gaia and Aveiro before attending the rally scheduled for 20:00 in Espinho, also in the Aveiro district.

Meanwhile, the PS Secretary-General begins the last campaign day in Sintra before signing the Municipal Commitment of Candidates to the Lisbon Metropolitan Area at the Gare do Oriente in the Portuguese capital.

José Luís Carneiro will accompany Alexandra Leitão, the head of the PS/Livre/BE/PAN coalition list, at 15:00 in Chiado, Lisbon, then heading to the Porto district for events in Gondomar, Valongo, and Vila Nova de Gaia.

The intense schedule of the socialist leader concludes in Porto at the Clube Fenianos Portuenses.

The leader of Chega, André Ventura, will end the campaign in the North, specifically in Minho: after a parade in Braga and a stop in Vila Verde, he participates in the closing rally in Viana do Castelo, at Santoinho.

Iniciativa Liberal’s president, Mariana Leitão, visits the Guimarães Market in Braga district and proceeds to Santa Maria da Feira in Aveiro, concluding the last campaign day in Matosinhos, Porto.

On the left, Livre also chose the North, specifically Gondomar in Porto district, to wrap up 11 days on the road, with co-spokespersons Rui Tavares and Isabel Mendes Lopes joining the socialist secretary-general in Sintra and Lisbon, accompanied by PAN spokesperson Inês Sousa Real, who has an event in Oeiras in the morning.

In contrast, PCP and Bloco de Esquerda’s leaders travel south throughout the day, with Paulo Raimundo starting in Moita before joining João Ferreira, CDU (PCP/PEV) candidate, for a parade in Lisbon starting at Chiado square.

The communist secretary-general concludes the campaign with a rally in Évora, while the BE coordinator ends the day in Amadora. Mariana Mortágua starts the day with a parade in Porto.

The CDS-PP president, Nuno Melo, is the only leader choosing the islands for the last campaign day, traveling to the Azores, specifically to Velas on São Jorge island, where the centrists hold one of their municipal leaderships.

The official campaign for the municipal elections ends today for over 800 groups of citizens and political forces, which submitted approximately 12,860 lists for municipalities nationwide, according to provisional data from the National Election Commission (CNE).

In the municipal elections, which take place between 08:00 and 19:00 on Sunday, voters will choose the governing bodies of 308 municipalities, 308 municipal assemblies, and 3,221 parish assemblies.

Another 37 parishes will choose their executive in citizen plenaries, as they have fewer than 150 voters.

According to the Electoral Administration of the Ministry of Internal Administration’s General Secretariat (MAI), there are 9,303,840 registered voters for the municipal elections.
