In a statement to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), Mota-Engil announced a new contract with the Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes for the design and construction of the second section between Apaseo el Grande and Irapuato of the Querétaro–Irapuato railway, extending a total of 70.7 kilometers.
In August, the company had already been awarded the first section of this project, considered a strategic initiative within Mexico’s National Railway Plan.
Additionally, Mota-Engil has recently secured various contracts in Mexico, amounting to approximately 200 million euros, related to the construction of railway infrastructure.
With these contracts, Mota-Engil is bolstering its order book growth in Mexico, which now totals about 3.7 billion euros.
