Mota-Engil signs new contract of 700 million with Petrobras in Brazil

In a statement to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), the Portuguese group announced that its affiliate Empresa Construtora Brasil (ECB), which holds a 33% stake in a consortium, has signed a new contract with Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) valued at 4.4 billion reals (approximately 700 million euros).

The new contract, estimated to last 50 months, includes project execution, construction, assembly, commissioning, assisted operation, and integration with the Duque de Caxias Refinery (“Reduc”) in Rio de Janeiro.

Additionally, there’s been a five-month extension on an ongoing ECB contract, valued at 0.2 billion reals (approximately 35 million euros), which involves providing services for the collection, processing, final disposal, and sale of flexible lines from the “Submarine Warehouses” in the Campos Basin.

“With these contracts, Mota-Engil further strengthens its order book, highlighting its status as a major player in the Oil & Gas sector in Brazil, bolstering its presence in Latin America,” the company stated in the release issued before the market opened.
