Two men were seriously injured on Sunday after their motorcycle collided with a caravan on the A2 Highway in Alcácer do Sal, Setúbal district.
This information was provided to Notícias ao Minuto by the Alcácer do Sal Volunteer Firefighters and confirmed by the Alentejo Litoral’s Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The accident alert was raised shortly before 9 p.m., and two hours later, the highway remained “completely closed” in the south-north direction, from Algarve to Lisbon, causing traffic congestion as people return home. It is noteworthy that today marks the end of the second half of August, a popular vacation period.
The seriously injured individuals were transported to Garcia de Orta Hospital in Almada.
