Motorcycle club mourns the death of young man crushed by car. He would have had a birthday on the 14th.

A motorcycle club, ‘Os Campinos,’ from Santarém, expressed sorrow over the death of a 25-year-old man who was crushed by a car in the village of Perofilho, Santarém, on Saturday.

The victim, identified as David, was reportedly “making a repair” when the jack he was using to lift the vehicle broke, causing the car to fall on him, as detailed by the Lezíria do Tejo’s Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command to Notícias ao Minuto

“Os Campinos Santarém Motoclube are in mourning… One of ours has left us… How is it possible that these things only happen to those who are good, those who still had so much to do and give in this life…”, read a post published on the motorcycle club’s official social media.

“David, you will never be forgotten, you will always be remembered! Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Shine brightly up there, friend,” it added.

According to Rede Regional, the young man was in a small workshop he had at his grandmother’s house. He would have turned 26 next week, on September 14, and was passionate about motorcycles and cars, currently working in a towing company.

It is noted that the victim’s acquaintances allegedly tried to call him “throughout the day” and, after receiving no response, eventually found him lifeless. The alert for the incident was given around 10:02 p.m. yesterday. When the authorities arrived, they could only pronounce the young man’s death.

Present at the scene were the Santarém Volunteer Firefighters, the Santarém Municipal Fire Brigade, the Almeirim Volunteer Firefighters, as well as the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from the Santarém Hospital, the Public Security Police (PSP), and elements of the INEM’s psychological support unit.
