A motorcyclist died on Friday night following a collision with a heavy vehicle on Highway 1 (A1) at kilometer 89.3, heading North-South near Alcanena, in the Bugalhos area.
The Notícias ao Minuto contacted the Sub-regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Médio Tejo, which reported that the death was declared at the scene.
According to a source from the GNR in Santarém, the victim was a man, although they could not immediately provide his age or the circumstances of the accident.
The alert for the incident was issued at 9:26 p.m.
As of 10:30 p.m., the roadway remained closed.
At the scene, a total of 18 personnel were present, supported by seven vehicles, including the Traffic Brigade, the Accident Investigation Unit of the Republican National Guard (GNR), the Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) of Abrantes, a psychological unit from INEM, and firefighters.
