
A source from the Setúbal Territorial Command of the GNR informed that following a collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Witnesses to the accident have already provided the license plate number to authorities.
The GNR is now set to undertake efforts to locate the vehicle and identify its driver.
According to a source from the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of the Setúbal Peninsula, the accident, for which the alert was issued at 5:37 p.m., occurred on the stretch of the EN377 near the village of Caixas, in the municipality of Sesimbra.
Emergency operations involved the Sesimbra Fire Department, the GNR, and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), comprising a total of 17 operatives supported by five vehicles, including the Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER) from Barreiro.
