The Portuguese have a very high rate of house moving, as the demand for these services, between January and May this year, shot up 627% compared to the same period last year, says the service APP Fixando.
As for the Top Cities with the most requests, the city of Lisbon stands out in both 2022 and 2023, followed by Vila Nova de Gaia, Braga, Porto and Setúbal, although in the latter the distribution is more dispersed among the various municipalities.
With regard to the type of requests between 2022 and 2023, Fixando has identified that, in terms of location, there is an increase in the districts of Porto and Setúbal, and a reduction in the districts of Lisbon and Braga, with most requests still concentrated in the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto.
As for prices for moving services, the amount charged per hour is 36, up 6 euros from the average hourly rate charged in 2022 (€30).
According to Fixando, 26% of the requests are for short distance moves (less than 5kms), followed by 18% between 10 and 15 kms and 17% between 5k and 10kms.
On the other hand, 29% of the clients intend to change a T2, followed by 27% a T0 or T1, 19% a T3 and 19% other types of structures.
It was also learned that 40% want furniture assembly and disassembly, 16% want belongings packed in boxes, 24% want on-site storage, and 8% want service with an outdoor elevator.
