Consult Portuguese Nationality Process Status
With the yout consultation code, you can track the status of a Portuguese nationality process online, without needing to visit a registry office.
Who can consult? Anyone who has applied for Portuguese nationality can consult their process status online with the consultation code.
The nationality process has several phases On the new nationality process status consultation page, 4 statuses are presented:
- Submitted ► your nationality request was received by a Registry service (that handles Nationality) and was registered in our system
- Under analysis ► we are verifying your process: if it meets the legal requirements, if it is complete with the necessary documents for the type of request, as well as the authenticity of the documents, or ► your process may be pending external consultation (for some types of requests it is necessary to consult external entities)
- For decision ► we have issued the order with the decision on the granting of nationality (whether or not you are entitled to Portuguese nationality)
- Completed ► your nationality request has been approved, i.e., Portuguese nationality has been granted and the registration of the new citizen has been made in the civil registry, or ► your request has been refused and archived.

How to match the statuses?
- Submitted: covers statuses 1 – Receipt of request and 2 – Registration of request, from the old consultation page
- Under analysis: covers statuses 3 – Consultation with external entities, 4 – Documentation verification, and 5 – Merit analysis, from the old consultation page
- For decision: corresponds to status 6 – Decision, from the old consultation page
- Completed: corresponds to status 7 – Registration/Archive, from the old consultation page.
