The accident occurred at 16:50 near Retorta beach, according to Commander Flávio Moreira, who stated that the circumstances of the incident remain unknown.
The injured individual was assisted on the scene, and given the severity of the injuries, which included “multiple fractures”, a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) was dispatched. At around 18:30, the victim was transported to the hospital in Penafiel.
The GNR of Castelo de Paiva is handling the case.
